Within the framework of the GIS Center's efforts in Dubai Municipality to support innovation, spread awareness and knowledge, and develop the employees' skills in the field of geospatial projects and modern technologies related to them, the Center had organized a Training Workshop for its employees by Eng. Ali Ismail.
The workshop included an explanation of Building Information Modeling and its basic principles and terms. It also examined the stages of design and implementation of engineering projects, the benefits and challenges resulting from the application of BIM in comparison with the traditional methods that rely on two-dimensional graphics. The workshop also highlighted the importance of integration between GIS and building data through practical examples and an explanation of the objectives of the Dubai BIM road map project, which increased the level of geospatial awareness among employees.
