A project to design and implement a road map for Building Information Modeling (BIM) in Dubai, which includes a short-term and a long-term plan in addition to design unified BIM standards and the integration with Geographic Information System (GIS), in order to provide building designs to building permit authorities and apply rule-based automatic code compliance checking and develop specialized tools to improve the process of issuing building permits.
The stockholders, who benefit from the project are Municipalities and the building permit authorities in Dubai. The project will help in shorten the time to issue a building permit and raise the level of quality of services. In addition, owners and real estate developers benefit from the project by facilitating their business procedures and reducing costs, and finally various government entities by facilitate access to detailed building information.
